Grants in the Greater Philadelphia area go to organizations that meet a broad range of needs. Typical grants range from $2,500 to $25,000, with occasional larger and multi-year commitments.
Please note that we are not currently accepting unsolicited grant proposals for Philadelphia.
Recent grant recipients include:
- Beyond Literacy — BeLit, the largest literacy agency in Philadelphia, provides opportunities for adults and families by improving their reading, writing, math, English language, digital literacy, and workplace skills.
- Partners Creating Community -- supports the needs of people who are different intellectually or developmentally and may need help negotiating mental health challenges.
- Play On Philly -- provides free before- and after-school music instruction and performance opportunities for underserved Philadelphia children from grades 1-12.
- Mighty Writers -- Offers after school writing and literacy programming at 4 centers in Philadelphia and 4 additional urban locations.
- Reach Out & Read -- Philadelphia chapter of national organization that seeks to actively involve parents in reading aloud to young children (thru age 5) using a program of free distribution of developmentally/ culturally/ linguistically appropriate books during periodic health-check visits to pediatricians’ offices.
- Rebuilding Together Philadelphia -- RTP brings volunteers and communities together to work with homeowners to transform houses into safe, healthy and energy-efficient homes.
- SHARE Food Program — Share leads the fight against food insecurity in the Philadelphia region, serving an expanding network of community-based organizations and school districts engaged in food distribution, education, and advocacy.
